Philosophy Statement

Establishing a trusting relationship and focusing on each student’s particular interests and strengths are the key factors when educating any child. Relationships must go beyond the classroom and involve parents, counselors, and anyone who is involved with a child’s learning. Relationships are key and when teachers and parents work together and have a common goal, outcomes for that student are more than positive.

Ensuring a learning environment that is flexible and accommodating, promotes inclusion and normalcy for students with disabilities. Being included and having social relationships are something that every child deserves. Developing peer relationships is a normal part of human growth and development. Students with disabilities have these very same needs. Teachers must be cognizant of these developmental needs and provide students with the support they need while assuring the least restrictive environment.
